Vienna Township Public Hearing - Accessory Dwelling Units
The Vienna Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on June 8, 2026, at 7:00 pm to recommend the adoption of a zoning ordinance amendment to the Township Board. The public hearing will be held at the Township Hall at 2734 M-32, Johannesburg, MI 49751. The full text of the amendment is available by clicking below. The public may appear at the public hearing in person or by counsel. The proposed amendments modify the Vienna Township Zoning Ordinance as follows: Amend Section 3.2 to add a definition of Accessory Dwelling Unit. Amend Sections 5.1.2 (Agricultural District; Permitted Uses), 5.2.2 (Recreational/Residential District, Rec-1; Permitted Uses), 5.3.2 (Single-family Residential District, R-2; Permitted Uses), 5.4.2 (Mixed Residential District, R-3; Permitted Uses), and 6.2.2 (Dwelling Lots) to allow Accessory Dwelling Units as a permitted use. Amend Section 7.5 to reference Accessory Dwelling Units. Amend Section 7.16 (Site Development Standards) to add subsection S (Accessory Dwelling Units) to add standards for Accessory Dwelling Units.
