Montmorency Township Zoning Amendment
The Montmorency Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on October 7, 2025 to recommend adoption of a zoning ordinance amendment to the Township Board. The public hearing will be held at 20841 County Rd. 459 Hillman, MI 49746. Written comments may be sent to the above address prior to the meeting. The public may appear at the public hearing in person or by counsel. The proposed amendment can be accessed by clicking below. The amendment modifies Article 6 to allow single-family dwellings to be built on lots which are less than 100 feet wide and less than 10,000 square feet in the RR-1 District. The amendment adds subsection G to Article 11 which allows single-family dwellings to be built upon nonconforming lots of record in any district as long as setbacks are met or a variance for setbacks is approved.
