Hawes Township Zoning Ordinance Amendment - Recreational Vehicles - Public Hearing May 23, 2024
The Hawes Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on May 23, 2024 at 6 pm to recommend a zoning ordinance amendment to the Township Board. The public hearing will be held at the Hubbard Lake South Shore Fire Department at 367 Mt. Maria Drive, Spruce, MI. Written comments may be sent to Rodney Cordes at 2006 N Stout Rd, Barton City, MI 48705 prior to the meeting. The public may appear at the public hearing in person or by counsel. A summary of the amendment is as follows:
Amend Section 2.02 (Definitions) to add campground definition.
Amend Section 3.10 (Recreational Vehicles) to add general standards related to RVs not becoming permanent structures, rental of RVs, setbacks, water/septic connections, and the R-1 overlay. Add a subsection B specifing occupancy limits. Add a subsection C containing standards for open storage of RVs on a vacant lot and on a developed lot.
