Onaway High School Prepares Graduating Students With Mock Interviews

On April 20, 2017, all 43 upcoming Onaway High School graduating students took part in a mock interview session in the high school gym.

From 12:30-3:30pm, 23 local business representatives conducting the mock interviews with the students, reviewing their portfolios, cover letters, resumes and applications and providing constructive feedback to the students.

“I was very impressed with how well dressed and prepared the students were for the mock interviews,” said interviewer Yolanda Romel of Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium. All the students that I interviewed seemed to have a laid out plan for their future. There is going to be a lot of upcoming talent entering the workforce and colleges.”

Student feedback was positive and many were very thankful for the experience and for the employer’s time.

Student Mary Campbell said she, “enjoyed the chance to have such a great experience and to go over her portfolio and resume.”

Jesse Watson agreed, adding, “Thank you for taking time out of your day to help me with my interview skills. Also, thank you for sharing your expertise and helping me plan for my future.”
