Older Job Seekers Struggle with Online Job Search
Dianne Burcham started coming to Michigan Works! in Gaylord twice a week since April searching for full-time employment. An older worker, Dianne struggled with online applications, so she worked with Talent Specialist Cassie Rogers with application assistance. Cassie also helped Dianne with resume assistance, interview coaching and partner referrals.
When Dianne’s unemployment insurance benefits ran out, she needed to find work fast. In June she was able to find part-time employment with Advantage Sales & Marketing as an Event Specialist. With hopes of finding full-time employment soon, Dianne continues to come to Michigan Works! twice a week. Cassie works with her weekly to help her reach her goal.
“Cassie has been a big help to me in getting me part-time employed with ASM and she continues to help me apply to full-time positions,” says Dianne gratefully.
