West Traverse Township Adopts Zoning Ordinance

West Traverse Township (Emmet County) has adopted a new, interactive zoning ordinance. A zoning ordinance sub-committee has worked with NEMCOG since the summer of 2016 to draft the new ordinance. Numerous changes were made to the old ordinance to provide for clarification of intent, ensure correct laws were cited, and to conform to the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act. The ordinance was also reorganized into new articles for ease of use. Conflicting regulations were corrected. The new ordinance was made interactive and goes into effect on March 1, 2018.
