New Store Finds Continued Success with Michigan Works! Employment Services
In October 2014, The Shoe Dept was scheduled to open in the Alpena Mall, but they found themselves running behind on deadlines and opening schedules. They came to Michigan Works! to help them advertise their available positions. In addition, Michigan Works! sent referrals to their job fair at their new location prior to the grand opening, collected resumes and applications, and also provided resume searches.
As a result of Michigan Works! efforts, Vito Reno was hired as The Shoe Dept’s new store manager. To date, he has been with the company for a year and he still loves his job. Vito’s motto is, “What you put in as effort, you will get in return. Work smarter, not harder.”
As The Shoe Dept has more openings, Vito continues to rely on Michigan Works! for their employment services. “Our last three sales associates have come from Michigan Works!,” says Vito. “I wish all of my employees were as eager to learn and give 110% all the time as these folks do. I am blessed.”
With the help of Michigan Works!, The Shoe Dept has found some great staff and they continue to rely on Michigan Works! for their employment services needs.
